KENNESAW, Ga. | Dec 4, 2025

Kennesaw State is in the hunt for its first ever bowl game, and two Radow College graduate students are right in the center of the excitement. Tylon Dunlap and Coleman Bennett are not just showing out on the field. They are balancing early morning practices, night classes, treatment, film, papers, and everything in between while trying to stay grounded as students. It is the kind of balance most students can relate to, just with a lot more sprinting and 6:00 AM alarms.

Both are earning their master鈥檚 degrees in Public Administration, and both say their experiences at Radow College have shaped them just as much as football. Bennett who studied sociology as an undergrad, recently completed a class project that connected real football life with academic research. He interviewed coaches and NFL players, brought Guardian Caps, which is a helmet with external padding to reduce concussions into class, and broke down concussion protocols from youth leagues all the way to the pros. 鈥淚 learned a lot, but I also got to teach people things about the game that you don鈥檛 really see from the outside,鈥 Bennett said.
Dunlap said his program opened an entirely new world for him. 鈥淚 have learned so much about government and how everything works,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t is new and challenging, and it is making me think about life beyond sports in a way I did not before.鈥
Like a lot of students, they are honest about the chaos of balancing everything. Dunlap laughed about still ending up with five assignments due on Sundays even when he tries to plan ahead. 鈥淚f I get frustrated, I will not get it done,鈥 he admitted. 鈥淪o I put on music, get in a vibe, and start knocking things out.鈥 Bennett builds small resets into his day, whether that is watching a show, getting in the pool at his apartment, or playing games to clear his head before he jumps into homework or film again. 鈥淏urnout is real,鈥 he said. 鈥淏reaks actually help me stay locked in.鈥

Football has taught them a lot about school, too. Dunlap said group projects feel natural after being around a hundred teammates every day.
Both athletes take a lot of pride in being part of Radow. Dunlap wants to be remembered as someone who respected everyone and showed that athletes can be serious students. Bennett said his biggest focus is character, being grounded in faith, showing gratitude, and making the most of every opportunity. 鈥淚 want people to know I really bought in,鈥 he said. 鈥淣ot just in class, but in everything Radow offered.鈥
With bowl games coming up, the excitement is strong. 鈥淭his year has been exciting,鈥 Dunlap said. 鈥淲e built real chemistry in less than a year, which is rare. We are like brothers.鈥 For Bennett, this will be his first bowl game ever. 鈥淭he experience, the memories, the chance to make history. That is what I am looking forward to,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e are the first team to ever do this at Kennesaw. That means something.鈥
After the season, both hope to pursue professional football while also preparing for long term careers inspired by their time at Radow. They are exploring future roles in government, HR, or community-centered work. Right now, they are focused on finishing strong in class, on the field, and in the history books of Kennesaw State.
Bennett shared a lesson his dad taught him. Treat life like downs in a game. Attack first down. Manage second. Convert on third. And when you have to go for it on fourth, give it everything. 鈥淭hat applies in the classroom too,鈥 he said. 鈥淢idterms, finals, projects. You just keep pushing.鈥
